Rip vs iso3/12/2024 I always redeem the Digital Copy and realized many newer movies and some older titles have extras included on Vudu and Movies Anywhere. When hard drive prices increased the last 1.5 years, I started re-evaluating ripping extras. Out of 80+ TB of media about 10TB is extras. At the rate I buy and rip movies, I don't have time to do that so I would just leave all that superfluous stuff in the Extras folders because hard drive 'used' to be pretty cheap. I used to try to review and rename all of these ripped 'extras' after ripping them, but it's pretty time consuming. The downside is most extras ripped are not named in any way, and a lot of what appear to be extras are not extras and just take up HD space. If I want to watch some extras I go to that library and use 'Folder' view to scroll to that movie. I put the extras for each movie in a folder named the same as the movie folder. This library doesn't scan/scrape the media info like a Movie library. I created a 'Bluray Extras' library using the 'Other Videos' category in Plex. I rip to MKV, and I rip the extras and put them in a separate library in Plex.
